Welcome to The Daily ECG (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Educational purpose only — no medical advice

The Service is provided strictly for educational and entertainment purposes. It does NOT constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and must NOT be used to make clinical decisions regarding any patient, including yourself.

ECG interpretations, options, hints, and explanations shown in the Service are simplified didactic content and may not reflect the full clinical picture. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns. The authors and operators of the Service assume no responsibility for any decision made based on its content.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering.
  • You may not share your account or use someone else's account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract answers programmatically.
  • Cheat, manipulate streaks, or interfere with leaderboards.
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content via feedback or any other channel.
  • Use the Service to harass other users.
  • Disrupt the Service or attempt unauthorized access.

5. Intellectual property

All content in the Service — including the name "The Daily ECG", the logo, the user interface, the case explanations, and the underlying code — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational use.

ECG images may be original, adapted, or used under educational fair-use principles. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us so we can review.

6. User-submitted content

By submitting feedback or any content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to operate and improve the Service.

7. Service availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without notice.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR HEALTH OUTCOMES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF — OR INABILITY TO USE — THE SERVICE. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY CLINICAL DECISION INFLUENCED BY CONTENT FROM THE SERVICE.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service (including any clinical use).

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or applicable law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Portugal, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
